Meaning
Sundarkand is the fifth chapter of Tulsidas's Ramcharitmanas. It narrates Hanuman's journey to Lanka in search of Sita. Encouraged by Jambavan, Hanuman leaps across the ocean, defeats Surasa and Simhika on the way, enters Lanka by defeating Lankini, searches through Ravana's palace, finds Sita in Ashoka Vatika, gives her Rama's ring, receives Sita's Chudamani (crest jewel), destroys Ashoka Vatika, fights Meghnad, appears in Ravana's court, and finally sets Lanka ablaze before returning. The entire chapter symbolizes Hanuman's devotion, courage, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to Lord Rama.
