Meaning
Ganpati Atharvashirsha is an important Upanishad from the Atharvaveda. It glorifies Lord Ganesha as the Supreme Brahman (Parabrahman). The declaration 'Tvameva pratyaksham tattvamasi' means 'You are the manifest reality.' Ganesha is described as the primordial cause of the entire universe. The text contains Ganesha's dhyana (meditation form), mantra (Om Gam Ganapataye Namah), and Gayatri (Ekadantaya Vidmahe). The fruits of recitation include destruction of all obstacles and attainment of Dharma (righteousness), Artha (wealth), Kama (desires), and Moksha (liberation).

Reciting Atharvashirsha destroys all obstacles. Evening recitation destroys sins committed during the day. Morning recitation destroys sins committed at night. Reciting both morning and evening makes one free from sin. Chanting a thousand times fulfills desired wishes. Fasting and chanting on Chaturthi bestows knowledge and wisdom. One attains Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha.
